Yes, even ‘girls’ love to take photos of race cars and other speed events. You can hire me for your next event.

I had a blast doing this shoot. Smack dab in the infield, surrounded by guys and gals whose passion is their cars, I couldn’t help but absorb much of their excitement. When the races were over, I hated to leave it was so much fun. The local paper also picked up a few of my shots.

While doing a photo shoot I heard a band and spotted people dancing in the open air … I was drawn to them and this is my favourite shot from the ones I took (this is not a crop). Even though there is a lot of shadow here, it’s the obvious dancing motion, the sense of the connection, and how her legs dominate the shot.

I got a lot of great shots on this shoot but the best part was enjoying the music playing and observing how the crowd reacted to and created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What a great day.

Taken at the end of summer: enjoying and soaking up every memorable moment.

Isn’t she adorable? She has the most vibrant personality. She can converse like an adult, she has an innate sense of humour, and she has a beautiful aspect to her personality that will take her a long way: she’s genuinely concerned about others. I took so many shots of her this day … this is one of my favourites.

Shepherd and his reliable herding dog waiting to commence their run during a herding trial, taken near Beaverlodge, Alberta – Canada.

Although most of the photographs taken at this herding event were of the dogs working, some of the best moments occurred either behind-the-scenes or while the dogs and handlers were waiting patiently for their turn. There’s often a story in these simple moments. I love the story that’s lurking within this image.

Taken at a herding competition near Beaverlodge, Alberta – Canada.

For some photos to be effective, we don’t necessarily need to see the subject’s face. This image really appeals to me both photographically and emotionally. The echo of the graphic on his shirt to his own felt hat really caught my attention. He also had a strong presence about him, but when he turned away, there was this photo waiting to be taken.
